A mechanic explaining a repair to a customer beside the open bonnet of a car

Car repair workshops

Workshop bookings by technician and by bay, quote requests followed through to the end and the parts for each job deducted from stock.

Everyday reality

In a workshop, the diary isn't just about hours: it's about bays, technicians and parts that have to be there on the day.

  1. 01 · Today

The phone rings while the technician is under a car

At nine in the morning three cars come in, there's a customer at the counter and the phone won't stop. Whoever answers drops what they were doing; whoever doesn't loses the service to the workshop next door.

Quote requests that never get an answer

One customer asked for a clutch quote by phone, another by email and a third at the counter. Two weeks later nobody knows who was answered or who gave up.

    With Farol

Every request goes into the lead pipeline with its source and stage, and when it's accepted it becomes a customer record. The ones that are lost keep the reason.

Two vehicles for the same bay

The wheel alignment was booked into bay 2, where a car was already waiting for a part. The customer arrives on time and waits forty minutes.

    With Farol

Bays and boxes as workshop spaces: each booking has its bay and its technician, and the occupancy of every bay is in plain sight.

The part that's missing on the day of the job

The car is on the lift before anyone notices the filter hasn't arrived. The job stops and the customer gets the car back a day later than promised.

    With Farol

Parts with stock and a set minimum: those attached to the workshop booking are deducted when the job is completed, and the app warns you when a part drops below the minimum.

What stays in Farol and what stays in your software

Farol organises the diary, customers, quote requests and parts. It doesn't issue invoices: those still come from your certified invoicing software.

Questions

Is there a record per vehicle?

Not yet. Today the plate, model and mileage go in custom fields on the customer's record, visible to administrators, and in the notes of each job.

Can I handle jobs that take several days?

Yes, by booking the workshop slot on each of the days. There isn't yet a single booking that spans several days.

Does Farol issue invoices?

No. Invoices still come from your certified software; Farol organises the diary, customers and parts.
