Who we are
This site presents Farol, management software for businesses that run on appointments. The controller of the data collected on this site is Bruno Aires Design Lda. (Portugal), which sells Farol. What data we collect on this site
The site has no accounts or member area. We don't use analytics, social-media pixels or any other tracker, and we don't place analytics or advertising cookies in your browser.
When you submit a form (contact, demo or resource request), we process the details you give us — name, email and, if you fill them in, phone, business, sector, number of professionals and your message — to answer your request. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us.
If, when downloading a template, you choose "Remember my name and email on this device", those two details are kept in your browser's local storage for 30 days so you don't have to type them again, and are only sent when you confirm a new download. You can delete them in the form itself ("Not me") or by clearing this site's data in your browser.
The Farol Guide (the star in the corner of the screen) answers with texts written by the team and does not use artificial intelligence. When it has no direct answer, we keep the text of the question — with no name, email or other identifier, and with emails, numbers and links removed — for 90 days, so we can write new answers. To prevent abuse, a code derived from your IP address, which changes every day, is kept for 24 hours, separately from the questions. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the site's help. Please don't type personal or health details into the guide.
We only send you news if you explicitly ask for it; you can withdraw that consent at any time.
We keep this data for as long as needed to answer and follow up on your request. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Who processes data for us
The site, the form database and the reply emails run on secure cloud infrastructure hosted in the European Union, which acts as our processor. Fonts are served by the site itself, with no requests to third parties.
We don't sell personal data or share it for advertising.

Server technical logs
Like any website, the server hosting these pages logs requests for security and operational reasons. These logs may include IP address, date and time, and the page requested. They are not used to build profiles or cross-referenced with other sources.

Data within the application
This policy covers only the site. Data processed within the Farol application — clients, bookings, records and documents — is processed under the data processing agreement (DPA) entered into with each organisation that uses it: the organisation is the controller and we are the processor.
The application database is hosted in the EU region (Ireland). Payments are processed by Paddle.com (Merchant of Record), SMS messages are sent through BulkGate, and the optional AI features use OpenAI and Google models through an AI gateway with encryption in transit and no retention for training, and may be processed outside the EU. In those cases, transfers rely on an adequacy decision or on Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights
Under the GDPR, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or portability of your data, and object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, write to the contact email above; we reply within one month.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority (CNPD) or the authority in your country of residence.

Changes to this policy
If we change relevant practices, we update this page and its date. We recommend checking it periodically.
